Immediately after surgery, you will experience soreness in the areas where we performed liposuction. We give you a compression garment (body suit) to wear for 6 weeks. It’s normal for swelling to begin within 24 hours, and it may increase over the next 3 to 4 days.
Bruising, which can make you look “black and blue,” should improve and resolve by the end of the second week. It’s important to stay hydrated, aiming for at least 3 liters of water or Gatorade daily during the first week to help speed up recovery.
If you had fat transfer as part of your procedure, you’ll need to avoid putting any pressure on the fat grafts for at least 3 weeks to prevent them from being reabsorbed by your body. Overpressure on the grafts can affect their survival. As you heal, you can see your results improve week by week. Recovery is a gradual process, so be patient and trust in the healing journey.
