Forehead / Brow Lift
The forehead undergoes an aging process where permanent wrinkles form and eye brows descend lower. This can lead to a tired or even angry appearance. Injecting botulinum toxin (or commonly known as BOTOX®) may help. However, there is a point where botulinum toxin injections are not effective enough anymore. Also, the effect of these injections are not permanent or long-lasting. In these cases, brow lift surgery can be a more long-term solution to help restore the youthful position of the eyebrows, create a more aesthetic arch, and smooth out wrinkles.*
*Individual results may vary.
Brow lift surgery can be performed with sedation (with medications that create overall relaxation) or general anesthesia (where patients “go to sleep”). The type of anesthesia depends on what Dr. Wong feels is the safest option for you. This procedure is performed on an outpatient basis where you will get to go home with your family the same day as your surgery. Depending on what is surgically necessary, brow lift surgery is typically 1 – 2 hours long. Brow lift surgery can be combined with other operations (such as face lift or eyelid surgery).
We always work with you to promote a safe and speedy recovery. Patients typically take a week to recover. You should rest your eyes for the first 2-3 days, after which you should be able to resume everyday activities like watching TV or reading a magazine. Dr. Wong will see you in clinic within a week of surgery.
