Gallery Aesthetics: Your Guide to a Luxurious and Safe Treatment Experience
At Gallery Aesthetics, we strive to create an environment that is both luxurious and fun, while providing you with the highest standard of care and safety. Below, we’ve provided some tips and answers to frequently asked questions to help you prepare for your appointment and achieve optimal results.
Tips for Preparing for Your Aesthetic Treatment
To get the best possible outcomes from your aesthetic treatment, preparation is key. Here’s what you need to know:
- Avoid alcohol consumption for at least 24 hours before your appointment. Alcohol can increase the risk of bleeding and bruising, which may interfere with your results. By refraining from alcohol, you help minimize these risks and improve the healing process.
- Discontinue the use of Vitamin E, fish oil supplements, and Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs) like Advil, Ibuprofen, Motrin, and Aleve about one week before your treatment. These substances can thin the blood, leading to an increased risk of bruising and bleeding. Stopping their use a week prior will help ensure a smooth recovery and reduce the likelihood of side effects.
- Plan your appointment around your social calendar. If you have a special event like a wedding or a big celebration, we recommend scheduling your injection treatments at least one month in advance. This will allow time for a two-week follow-up appointment, and for any potential bruising or swelling to fully subside, ensuring you look your best for the occasion.
Can I Get a Consultation and Treatment on the Same Day?
If you are new to our practice, we require that all first-time patients undergo a comprehensive new patient exam before any treatments can be administered. This exam includes an in-depth review of your medical history and a detailed facial assessment, which helps us create a personalized treatment plan that aligns with your aesthetic goals.
While we do require this initial consultation, it is often possible to receive both the consultation and treatment on the same day, depending on the type of treatment you are seeking. Our priority is to ensure you receive safe, tailored care, and in many cases, we can accommodate same-day treatments. However, for more complex procedures, a separate appointment may be necessary to allow proper preparation and planning.
Can I Get Lip Filler If I Have Previous Lip Filler from Another Clinic?
Yes, it is possible to get new lip filler even if you’ve had filler from another clinic a year ago. However, for optimal results, we recommend scheduling a consultation first. During this consultation, we will thoroughly assess your lip anatomy and the current state of your existing filler. We will also check for any filler migration (where the filler has moved to an unintended area) to determine whether it’s necessary to dissolve the old filler before proceeding with a new treatment.
In some cases, the existing filler may need to be dissolved to ensure that your new lip filler results are smooth, symmetrical, and natural-looking. Dissolving filler is a simple process, but it’s important to allow enough time for the old filler to be fully dissolved before undergoing a new treatment.
Can I Get Botox (TOX) and Lip Filler on the Same Day?
In many cases, yes, you can receive Botox (TOX) and lip filler treatments on the same day. For example, if you are receiving a full-face Botox treatment, it is possible to add lip filler during the same appointment. We typically perform the lip filler treatment first, followed by the Botox injections, to ensure the best results.
That said, it’s important to consult your aesthetic nurse before scheduling both treatments together. During the consultation, we’ll assess whether these treatments complement each other or if any adjustments need to be made to avoid potential contradictions between the two. Some patients may benefit from spacing out their treatments, depending on their specific goals and treatment plan.
How to Get Rid of Frown Lines?
To effectively reduce or eliminate frown lines, Botox (TOX) is a highly effective treatment. Botox works by temporarily stopping the muscle movements that cause frown lines, which helps smooth out the skin and prevent further deepening of the lines. Regular Botox treatments can help maintain these results over time.
Additionally, incorporating chemical and mechanical exfoliants into your skincare routine can further soften the appearance of frown lines. Chemical exfoliants, such as alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) or beta hydroxy acids (BHAs), promote cell turnover and smooth the skin’s surface. Mechanical exfoliants, like microdermabrasion or facial scrubs, can also help minimize fine lines by removing dead skin cells and revealing fresher skin underneath.
How Long Does Lip Filler Last?
Lip filler lasts between 6 to 12 months, depending on the individual, the type of filler used, and lifestyle factors. The body naturally metabolizes the filler over time, which is why the effects are not permanent.
Factors that influence how long your lip filler lasts include your body’s metabolic rate, the amount of filler used, and how well you follow post-care instructions. Regular maintenance appointments can help keep your lips looking plump and natural for an extended period.
How Can I Make My Lip Filler Last Longer?
To prolong the effects of your lip filler, we recommend maintaining Botox (TOX) treatments around the lips every 6 weeks. Botox can help relax the muscles around the mouth, reducing movement that can cause the filler to break down more quickly.
Additionally, avoid using straws when drinking, as the repetitive muscle movements required to sip through a straw can contribute to the faster breakdown of lip filler. Proper post-treatment care and hydration can also help maintain the longevity of your filler.
How Often Can I Get Lip Filler?
You can receive lip filler every 6 months for maintenance if approved by your aesthetic nurse during your assessment. Regular maintenance ensures that your lips retain their desired fullness, without allowing the filler to fully dissolve before your next treatment.
Scheduling a consultation with your aesthetic nurse prior to each treatment will help determine the right timing and amount of filler for your unique needs.
Is Lip Filler Permanent?
No, lip filler is not permanent. Over time, your body will naturally break down and absorb the filler, which is why regular maintenance treatments are necessary to maintain your results. Depending on the type of filler used and your individual metabolism, lip filler typically lasts between 6 to 12 months.
If you wish to maintain the look of fuller lips, we recommend scheduling follow-up treatments with your aesthetic nurse every 6 months.
I am Not Happy with My Previous Lip Filler. Can I Restart My Lip Filler Journey?
Yes, if you are unhappy with the results of previous lip filler treatment from another clinic, you can restart your lip filler journey. First, we can dissolve the existing filler using a special enzyme that breaks down the hyaluronic acid in the filler. Once the filler has been fully dissolved, we recommend waiting two weeks before beginning a new lip filler treatment.
This process allows your lips to return to their natural state, providing a clean slate for us to begin your new lip filler journey and achieve the results you are looking for.
