What is Latisse?

Latisse is the only scientifically proven and FDA approved prescription product to stimulate longer and thicker eyelash growth. This is a growth enhancing liquid formula that is applied to the lash line daily. If you suffer from thin or sparse eyelashes, Latisse may be your answer.*

Normal eyelashes grow to a certain extent and eventually fall out to start a new growth cycle again. Applying Latisse prevents the lashes from falling out, allowing the eyelashes to grow longer. To maintain the growth and length of the eyelashes, Latisse treatments are continued 2 to 3 times a week.

How to Use Latisse

Dr. Wong has several tips and tricks to enhance the results of using Latisse. Latisse should be applied once a day. Clean and dry your eyelids before applying Latisse. You can use Latisse before putting on your mascara in the morning or at night before you go to bed. Always use a clean brush. Each box of Latisse comes with sterile brush applicators. Avoid direct contact of the solution into your eyes and skin. Some patients also apply Latisse to their eyebrows to stimulate hair growth in this region.

When will I see eyelash growth?

Significant eyelash growth is typically seen within 4 to 8 weeks.* For some patients, it may take up to 3 months to see a big change.* Once the desired length is reached, Latisse treatments are continued 2 to 3 times a week to maintain the length. If application is stopped, the eyelashes will begin their normal shedding process again and return to their original length over the next 2 to 4 weeks.

Is Latisse safe?

Latisse has been clinically proven to be safe when used as directed. No serious side effects were seen. Some minor side effects that have been reported include itching, dryness of the eyes, temporary redness of the eyes or eyelids and darkening of the skin around the eyes and the colored part of the eyes (irises). Sometimes, the small fine hairs outside the areas being treated may grow longer they come in contact with Latisse. A rare finding is a decrease in the pressure in the eye which does not normally show any symptoms and is not a cause for concern in patients who do not already have pressure conditions with the eye.

Benefits of Latisse

Latisse stimulates the growth of eyelashes. Although there are countless products on the market that claim to help with eyelash growth, they are not guaranteed to work and do not provide long-lasting results.

Latisse requires a prescription from a doctor. It is best to be evaluated by a physician like Dr. Wong to see if Latisse is right for you.
